It is sooo easy to pull out a variety of things that my kids love and let them have their own little 'buffet'! Our favorites are sliced turkey, sliced string cheese, grapes, cucumbers, carrots, califlower, and ritz crackers! Now that my two year old has learned to open the fridge and get things out... I decided to cut up fruits and veggies and put in small bags. I store these in the bottom containers of our fridge and I am teaching her that when she wants a snack she can open the fridge and pick one of the bags to eat. That way she is picking what she eats but I am giving her a hathly variety. I think this plate would be perfect for my girls to match their food with the pictures and learn to eat more healthy.Jon, Keri, Addison, and Brooklynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01520651082953196311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7913092619272760672.post-27100594256954742222010-06-08T06:51:02.544-06:002010-06-08T06:51:02.544-06:00I like this plate. I have four young sons with varied tastes and have taught them to be aware of what they are putting in their bodies and that they can do it according to their own tastes. For instance, I have one son who absolutely loves fruit and will eat it in any form and so he normally just eats the fruit fresh from the store (washed, of course). However, I have another son who really only likes 1 or 2 fruits as they are, so I have shown him he can make fruit smoothies (which he will drink) and add fruits to his foods (such as crushed pineapple to his barbecue) in order to meet nutritional needs. I think it's important to encourage creativity in eating and adapt to unique needs when informing our kiddos about nutrition!alexahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10604353441023267031noreply@blogger.com
